Visitor statistics
To find out roughly how many people read this site, we use GoatCounter, an open-source analytics tool. It sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device, so no consent banner is required under § 25 TDDDG. It stores no IP address: a visit is identified by a hash of IP address, browser string and a salt that is discarded every 24 hours, which cannot be traced back to you or used to follow you across sites. Only aggregate counts are kept — page views, referrer, browser, country. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site is read, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object at any time using the contact address above, or by switching on “Do Not Track” in your browser, which GoatCounter honours.
No tracking, nothing embedded
No advertising networks are used and nothing follows you between sites. No cookies are set and nothing is written to your browser’s localStorage. No third-party content is embedded — no maps, no forms, no videos, no calendars. Apart from the host and the counter described above, loading a page opens no connection to any other server.
Fonts and scripts
All fonts (Lora, Source Sans Pro, Spectral, Inter) are served from this server, not from a CDN, as is all of the site’s own JavaScript. No IP address is transmitted to Google, to an icon CDN, or to any other third party. The one script loaded from elsewhere is the counter described above.
